Bathroom vanity pull out drawer
Hair tool organizer
Bathroom vanity cabinets don’t have the best storage under the sink so adding this pull out drawer to the side of the cabinet is a great way to organize. This easy DIY can be added to any base cabinet, here’s the materials I used!
Materials
3/4” plywood
1/4” plywood
1 1/4” screws
Kreg pocket hole jig (optional)
Cut List - Overall dimensions 16” x 7.5” x 9.5”
Back piece 3/4” x 16” x 9 1/4”
Front piece 3/4” x 16” x 5 1/4”
Sides and middle divider (3) 3/4” x 6” x 9 1/4” These will then be cut at an angle so the shorter height is 5 1/4”
Bottom piece 1/4” x 16” x 7.5”
3/4” x16” spacer pieces for the drawer slides to go to. This is for cabinets with face frames to bump out so the slides don’t hit the frame.
Step 1 - cuts
Make all cuts noted in above cut list or customize to what you’d like. I used 16” drawer slides so that’s the depth I made my drawer as well. Feel free to add more dividers or no dividers, whatever works for you!
Make the angle cut
If making the angle cuts Just measure 5 1/4” height on the 3/4” x 6” x 9 1/4” pieces and draw a straight line. Do this for all 3 of these pieces.
Step 2- Assemble
Make pocket holes as shown above on the back piece and the front piece so they’ll be hidden when installed. If you don’t have pocket screw jig you can use regular wood screws from the back. I used wood glue and attached with 1 1/4” screws.
For the divider you can use just wood glue and brad nails or use screws from the back so you can’t see them.
This is the view from the back of the drawer
If using pocket screws then these would be hidden when looking from the front.
Step 3 - Add bottom
Talk the 1/4” x 16” x 7.5” piece and attach to bottom with wood glue and brad nails
Step 4 - drawer slides
Attach slides to spacer - If you have frameless cabinets you can skip the spacer!
I found it easier to use a 1x8 and attach both slides top and bottom so it’s easier to line up the slides on the drawer. Rather than 2 individual spacers. So first attach the slides to the spacer.
Then attach the inside part of the slides to the back of the drawer, just measure how far apart the slides are and match them up.
Once those are lined up top and bottom you can then attach the spacer that has the outside part of the drawer slide to the inside of the cabinet at the height you want. I added mine to the upper part of cabinet so I can fit storage underneath the pull out as well.

Step 5 - install the drawer
Just slide the drawer into the outer drawer mounts attached to the cabinet until you hear a click and you’re done!
Hope this helps!
